Have some questions?  Please see below for the most commonly asked, and if you’re question hasn’t been answered then feel free to email me at hello@facepaintlondon.com!

What kind of face paints do you use?

I only use Snazaroo paints.  They are waterbased paints and therefore a lot easier to remove than oil based paints, so there’s no need for furious scrubbing at bathtime! They also wash out of clothing easily.

Can my child have an allergic reaction to face paint?

Snazaroo paints are also hypoallergenic, and it is very unlikely that your child will have a reaction to them.  I myself have very sensitive skin and have never had any problems with the paints I use.

However, if there is concern regarding a child’s suitability for painting then I will either recommend a small patch test or advise against painting to be on the safe side.

Can anyone have their face painted?

Anyone with a skin condition that affects the face will be unsuitable for painting.

Children under the age of three are also unsuitable for face painting, however I will paint a small arm or hand design at their parent’s discretion.

As before, if there is any worry as to a child’s suitability for painting then I will advise against it.

How much do you charge?

For a private event I usually charge by the hour.  I can paint approx 10-12 children an hour, and so I usually recommend a 2 hour slot for a party.  My pricing varies depending on factors such as location, day of the week and type of event, but I can usually quote between £35- £50 an hour.

I offer a flexible charging system for public events such as community fairs – for example, some clients prefer to have their entertainers hire stalls or spaces, while others would rather a percentage of takings be donated. I’m happy to adopt the procedures that work best for you.
